Women's Lacrosse Edged By UMaine-Farmington Tuesday, 9-7

WATERVILLE, Maine - The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) women's lacrosse team stormed back in the second half with four unanswered goals to tie the game, 7-7, with just under 12 minutes left in regulation, but two late goals in the final 23 seconds lifted the UMaine-Farmington (UMF) Beavers to a 9-7 victory Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference game held on Bernatchez Field at Thomas College.

GAME INFORMATION
Score: Saint Joseph 7, UMaine-Farmington 9
Records: USJ (1-1), UMF (1-1)
Location: Bernatchez Field | Thomas College | Waterville, Me.

COACH QUOTE [Karen Nell]
"The team worked really hard to get back in the game and tie it in the second half. Taya Valdez and Jenna Banta came up big to get the Blue Jays back in the game, but two fouls in the last 30 seconds proved to be costly. Our goalkeepers, Silvana Barcomb and Nina Lestrud, and the defense really helped keep us in the game down the stretch. I'm really proud of the team as we continue to grow on and off the field."
