Shores Named GNAC Women's XC Runner of the Week

WINTHROP, Mass. - Sophomore Faith Shores (West Simsbury, Conn.) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) women's cross country team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Runner of the Week, it was announced by the conference front office on Monday afternoon in its fourth weekly report of the 2023 campaign. It marks the first career GNAC weekly honor for Shores and the second for the USJ cross country team this year.

OFFICIAL GNAC RELEASE 

Shores had an incredible showing at the Mitchell Invitational this past Friday, winning the women's 5K after crossing the line in a time of 20:29. The time was nearly four minutes faster than the second-place finisher. Shores victory lifted the Blue Jays to a team title, winning the meet over hosts and GNAC opponent Mitchell College and fellow conference opponent Dean College. 

UP NEXT 

Shores and the women's cross country returns to action next on Saturday, September 30, heading to Hampshire College in Amherst, Mass., for the Founding Tree Invitational. The women's 6k is set to begin at 10:00 a.m.
