Shores Paces Women's Cross Country at Wheaton and Babson Season Opener

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Sophomore Faith Shores (West Simsbury, Conn.) paced the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) women's cross country team with a 17th place finish at the 9th Annual Wheaton and Babson Season Opener on the Mark Coogan Cross Country Course at Highland Park in Attleboro, Mass., this morning.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Shores placed 17th after posting a 3k time of 13:27.00
  • Freshman Aliyannah Makein (Durham, Conn.) was the next Blue Jay to cross the line, finishing in 45th after posting a time of 16:39.50
  • Senior Jaelynn Solorzano rounded out the USJ lineup with a 47th place finish after crossing the line in a time of 19:30.70
  • Babson took home the women's team title, tallying 35 points ahead of hosts Wheaton, who tallied 36 points.

UP NEXT

The women's cross country returns to action next Saturday, September 9 for the Cardinal Invitational, hosted by Wesleyan University at the Wes Fuhrman '05 Trails Cross Country Course in Middletown, Conn.
