Volleyball Sweeps Dean on the Road Tuesday

FRANKLIN, Mass. - The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) women's volleyball team swept the Dean College Bulldogs, 3-0, on the road Tuesday night inside Pieri Gymnasium. The Blue Jays defeated the Bulldogs in straight sets (25-18, 25-21, 25-22) to improve their record to 2-4 overall on the season, while Dean slips to 2-4 with the setback. Saint Joseph will be back in action next on Saturday at home when they host a tri-match with Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) foe Saint Joseph's College of Maine and Mitchell Colege beginning at 12:00 p.m.

The Blue Jays won the battle at the service line recording 12 service aces to Dean's five, while senior middle blocker Torrie Epps (Windsor, Conn.) led the charge offensively with a team-best four kills to power USJ to victory. Senior Brenna Miller (McCleary, Wash.) facilitated the offense with nine assists and freshman Hannah Benson (Terryville, Conn.) led the defensive effort with a team-high 11 digs.

The USJ women's volleyball team will be back in action next on Saturday at home when they host a tri-match with GNAC foe Saint Joseph's College of Maine and Mitchell Colege. USJ and SJC are slated to begin at 12:00 p.m., while the match versus Mitchell will start at approximately 4:00 p.m.
