
Niemczyk Named GNAC Women's Swimming & Diving Rookie of the Week
WINTHROP, Mass. – Freshman Alina Niemczyk (Vernon, Conn.) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) women's swimming and diving team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the conference front office on Monday afternoon in its fourth weekly report of the 2024-25 season. The honor marks the third time that Niemczyk earned a weekly conference accolade this season, and in her career.
Niemczyk continued her strong start to her collegiate career, winning three events for USJ during a double-dual meet sweep against Albertus Magnus College of Saint Joseph's College of Maine this past Saturday. She started her day off strong by being a member of the winning 200 yard medley relay team. Niemczyk then won the 200 yard IM, posting a time of 2:28.46. The freshman rounded out her afternoon by winning the 200 yard fly, recording a time of 2:35.87.

The Blue Jays head on the road, traveling to nearby New Britain, Conn., for the Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) Sprint Meet on Friday, November 8. Held inside the Jack Suydam Natatoirum on the campus of CCSU, the meet is slated to begin at 5:00 p.m.
