Women's Swimming & Diving Finishes Sixth at GNAC Championships

WORCESTER, Mass. – The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) women's swimming and diving team concluded the 2024 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) championships on Sunday, finishing in sixth-place after tallying 402.5 points across three days inside the WPI Sports & Recreation Center in Worcester, Mass.

TOP PERFORMANCES 

  • 100 Yard Free - Freshman Kaia Michaud (Hamden, Conn.) paced USJ, finishing in eighth place after posting a time of 58.29 seconds.
  • 50 Yard Breaststroke – Junior Amy Mamica (Rocky Hill, Conn.) continued her stellar weekend, finishing in fourth place with a time of 35.03 seconds.
  • 1650 Yard Free – Senior Adelina Marcille (Waterford, Conn.) topped the timing sheet for the Blue Jays, finishing in ninth place with a time of 22:10.68.
  • 200 Yard Fly – Freshman Jodie Hammond (Newington, Conn.) was the lone USJ swimmer, recording a ninth-place finish in a time of 3:16.08.
  • 200 Yard IM – Sophomore Julianna Violette (Rocky Hill, Conn.) placed 11th, touching the wall in a time of 2:35.39.
  • 400 Yard Medley Relay – The team of Violette, Michaud, Mamica and freshman Alexia Grech (Burlington, Conn.) finished in fourth, combining for a time of 4:38.83.
