Women's Swimming & Diving Picked to Finish Sixth Ahead of GNAC Championship Meet
WINTHROP, Mass. – The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's and women's swimming and diving teams were picked to finish tied for third and sixth, respectively, in the 2024 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Pre-Championship Coaches' Poll, the league's front office announced Wednesday morning. The three-day GNAC Championships are set to begin on Friday, February 2nd inside the WPI Sports & Recreation Center in Worcester, Mass.

The women's team were picked to finish sixth for the second consecutive season, receiving 24 points, ahead of Colby-Sawyer (16) and Albertus Magnus (13). Norwich was selected to finish first in this year's championship, receiving 60 points and five of a possible eight first-place tallies. Simmons received the remaining three first-place votes, totaling 57 points for second place. Rounding out the rest of the poll was Saint Joseph's Maine in third (45 points), Regis (41) and Elms (32). USJ finished in fourth place at last year's Championship meet matching the team's best finish since the 2018-19 GNAC Championships.
The men's repeated as a third-place pick for the third consecutive year in this season's pre-championship poll, also being projected to finish third the previous two years. The Blue Jays, who received 29 points are tied with Saint Joseph's Maine for third. The Blue Jays and Monks were picked to finish ahead of Colby-Sawyer (19 points), Elms (17) and Albertus Magnus (15). Norwich was unanimously selected to finish first, receiving all seven first place votes, while Regis was tabbed second, garnering 38 points. USJ is looking to repeat the success they had in last year's Championships, setting a program record for the best finish in the conference championship meet by placing second.
