WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) women's soccer team was bested at home by Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opponents Emmanuel College (EC), 6-0, Saturday afternoon at the USJ Soccer Field in West Hartford, Conn. With the result, the Blue Jays dropped to 1-5-0 on the year and 1-2-0 in GNAC play, while the Saints move to 4-0-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the conference.
KEY MOMENTS
- The Saints would control the opening half, peppering the USJ net, but sophomore goalkeeper Madison Corcoran (Bristol, Conn.) would record three saves to keep the Saints off the board.
- However, the visitors found a late goal to close the first half, taking a 1-0 lead into the break after scoring with 24 seconds left in the first half.
- EC then cruised in the second half, scoring five goals to take home the win, 6-0.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Saints outshot the Blue Jays, 27-5.
- EC also held a 9-1 edge in corner kicks.
- Corcoran recorded five saves.
