NORTHFIELD, Vt. - The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) women's soccer team saw its 2024 season come to a close, falling to seventh-seeded Norwich University (Norwich), 7-3, during the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) First Round Thursday night at Sabine Field at Haynes Family Stadium in Northfield, Vt. With the result, the Blue Jays conclude the season at 6-11-3 overall.
KEY MOMENTS
- Norwich grabbed the lead at the 11:27 mark after a goal from Harley Murphy.
- Junior forward Alana Picard (Windsor Locks, Conn.) quickly equalized for USJ, finding the back of the net at the 16:28 mark, tying the game at 1-1.
- Picard quickly netted her second of the game, establishing a 2-1 USJ lead with a solo goal at the 20-minute mark.
- The Cadets equalized with 29:19 on the clock, before taking the lead with 12 minutes left in the half, 3-2. The score would hold entering the halftime break.
- Norwich opened the second half strong, scoring two unanswered goals to hold a 5-2 edge at the 62:49 mark.
- Picard would net her hat-trick with a penalty kick at the 64:35 mark, but Norwich would score twice more to take down the Blue Jays, 7-3.

- Senior midfielder Jelly Frigo (West Hartford, Conn.) and senior forward Kelsi Ursini (Groton, Conn.) each dished out an assist.
