Women's Soccer Falls to Regis at Home Tuesday Night, 2-0

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) women's soccer team dropped a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match at home to Regis College (Regis), 2-0, Tuesday night on the USJ Soccer Field in West Hartford, Conn. Regis scored twice in the opening half to secure the victory. With the result, the Blue Jays move to 3-7-1 overall and 3-3-1 in conference play, while the Pride move to 5-4-2 on the year and 4-2-2 in the GNAC.

KEY MOMENTS

  • The Pride quickly netted the games first goal, scoring at the 9:27 mark to take the lead.
  • Regis netted their second at the 27:32 mark, increasing the gap to 2-0.
  • As the game flipped over to the second half, USJ would force two saves out of the Regis goalkeeper, but could not find the breakthrough, as Regis took home the victory, 2-0.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

  • Regis outshot USJ, 23-5.
  • The Pride also held a 8-1 edge in corner kicks.
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Madison Corcoran (Bristol, Conn.) tallied three saves on the day.

UP NEXT

The Blue Jays round out a two-game homestand on Saturday, October 5 against Anna Maria College. Opening kickoff against the AMCATS is set for noon.
