Muscatello Selected to 2022 NEWISA Senior Bowl

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Senior forward Maxine Muscatello (Berlin, Conn.) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) women's soccer team was selected to play in the upcoming 2022 New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) Senior Bowl, it was announced by the organization this week. Muscatello was one of 29 Division III players and one of four from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) to receive an invitation to participate in the event. Kickoff is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 10th from Granger Soccer Field on the campus of Clark University.

The NEWISA Senior Bowl brings together players from NCAA Division I, II and III colleges in New England for one final game following the conclusion of their last collegiate season. NEWISA Senior Bowl eligibility is open to all players who are set to graduate from their undergraduate studies during the 2022-23 academic year or any graduate student playing a final season this current school year.

Muscatello, who was named to the 2022 All-GNAC Second Team, led the Blue Jays' offensive attack, finishing the season with 33 points on 14 goals and five assists. She helped lead the Blue Jays to a 6-9-2 overall record, 5-6-2 mark in GNAC play, and their 22nd-consecutive berth to the GNAC postseason tournament. For her career, Muscatello started in 48 of the 49 games she appeared in over three full seasons and finished with 69 career points on 29 goals and 11 assists.
