Women's Lacrosse Concludes 2022 Season at Albertus Tuesday

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) women's lacrosse team concluded its 2022 season Tuesday evening with an intrastate battle with the Falcons of Albertus Magnus College (AMC), falling 10-9 on a cool and wet Celentano Field in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match. With the loss, the Blue Jays finish the season 6-11 overall on the season and 4-9 in conference play, while Albertus finishes 3-12 overall and 1-11 in the league.

GAME INFORMATION
Score: Saint Joseph 9, Albertus Magnus 10
Records: USJ 6-11 (4-9 GNAC), AMC 3-12 (1-11 GNAC)
Location: Celentano Field | New Haven, Conn.

Junior Makenzie Dinger (Hingham, Mass.) provided the scoring for USJ with four goals. Dinger finished with a GNAC-best 84 goals on the regular season and has 99 for her career, falling just short of the almighty 100. Sophomore Ana Nogueira (Trumbull, Conn.) completed an impressive sophomore campaign with three goals Tuesday, and 29 for the season. Senior Andrea Pezzullo (Ashaway, R.I.) and freshman Morgan Rhoades (Windsor, Conn.) also scored for USJ.

The Falcons were led by senior Katherine Raposo (Warwick, R.I.), who had a game-high five goals, while junior Keegan Riccio (West Haven, Conn.) added three including the game-winner with 3:28 to go.

The Blue Jays played to a 5-5 tie with the hosts in the first half, and appeared to take control down the stretch in this one leading by two, 9-7, with just over six minutes to play in the match. Things unraveled from there though as AMC rallied to score the final three goals to steal their first GNAC win of the season. Two of the three goals were scored in less than a minute of each other.
