HOW IT HAPPENED

Malorie Kiehl (Burlington, Mass.) scored a season-high five goals, Kerri Anselmo (Natick, Mass.) added four goals and a game-high five assists and the Regis (Mass.) women's lacrosse team overwhelmed a shorthanded USJ team 19-2 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action Saturday at Regis Stadium.

Junior Annmarie Masayda (Watertown, Conn.) and sophomore Charlotte Eberhardt (Thomaston, Conn.) each scored for USJ with both goals coming in the first half.

Kiehl and Anselmo did their damage early, accounting for five Regis goals within the first eight minutes of play to put their team up 5-0. The lead swelled to 8-0 before 10 minutes had elapsed as Cheyanne Jones (Randolph Center, Vt.) added a pair of goals and assisted on another before Masayda got USJ on the board with her goal with 19:42 to play in the first half.

With running time in play for the entire second half, the Pride added six goals to complete the scoring. Brooke Ross (Hanover, Mass.) capped the effort with a free position goal with 4:51 to play.

Maresa Malcolm (Barrington, N.J.) picked up the win between the pipes for RC, playing the first half before being spelled by Brittany McPherson (Lynn, Mass.) at halftime. McPherson kept her scoresheet clean while tallying three saves. Senior Emily Bourassa (Bristol, Conn.) posted 11 saves on 30 shots for the Blue Jays.
