Lax Shut Down By Monks, 18-0

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Emily Bourassa (Bristol, Conn.) made 12 saves in goal for the lacrosse team, but league-leading St. Joseph's College (Maine) got off 33 shots in an 18-0 win over the Blue Jays Saturday in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference game.

SJC improved to 13-2 overall and remained in first-place in the GNAC at 7-0; USJ is 4-10 and 1-7.

Mary Leasure (S.  Portland, Maine) had six assists and nine players scored goals for the Monks of St. Joseph. Kelsey Dumond (Lewiston, Maine) had three goals on three shots and added an assist to lead the offense.

Emily Bourassa, in the latest NCAA statistics, was 13th nationally among Division-III Goalkeeper in saves and ninth in save percentage. She brought her season total to 164 saves Saturday breaking the single-season school record she set last year at 158.

The Blue Jays were outshot 33-1 to one on the day. Hannah Lemek (Bristol, Conn.) had four draw controls (61 on the season, also a school record) and Annemarie Masayda (Watertown, Conn.) picked up three ground balls.

USJ concludes its season Saturday, April 30 when it hosts Simmons at 1 p.m.
