Women's Basketball Lands Three on CSC Academic All-District Team

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Seniors Olivia Heslin (Plainville, Conn.) and Jordan Ouellette (Bristol, Conn.) and junior Maya Slisz (New Britain, Conn.) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) women's basketball team received College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District honors, the organization announced Tuesday. The trio has now earned the honor for the second consecutive season. In addition, Ouellette has been selected to advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members for first-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees

The 2023-24 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

To be an Academic All-District® honoree, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore at their institution, have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above, and compete in 90 percent of the institution's games/contests/sets played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the games/contests/sets. A graduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as both an undergraduate and a grad student unless they are in their first semester as a graduate student and don't have an established graduate GPA.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 16 (women) and April 17 (men). The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed at the links above.
 
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
