Ouellette Named To NEWBA Honor Roll

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - Sophomore forward Jordan Ouellette (Bristol, Conn.) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) women's basketball team was selected to the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) honor roll for the week of December 5, it was announced by association officials on Monday, December 13. It marks the first career weekly NEWBA honor for Ouellette, who has opened up the 2021-22 season with a bang as the Blue Jays sport a 6-3 overall record.

Ouellette powered the Blue Jays to a momentum-building 3-0 week, with wins over Mitchell College Dec. 7, MCLA Dec. 9, and Anna Maria on Dec. 11, the latter by 31 points. After averaging nine points per game through her first four games, the former Bristol Eastern High School Lancer has been on a tear, dropping 16 points or more in each of her last five games, including tying a career-high 22 points in three of those games. Ouellette's three-game total this past week included 60 points and 20 rebounds on 26-of-43 from the field (60%).

Ouellette continues to lead the GNAC in field-goal percentage shooting at 56% on the season, which is also in the top 25 in all of NCAA Division III. She is currently the Blue Jays leading scorer at 14.9 PPG (sixth in GNAC) and rebounder at 6.2 RPG. Saint Joseph is 4-1 this season when Ouellette scores over 15 points.

UP NEXT 
The Blue Jays will enjoy the holiday season before getting back to the action on Tuesday, January 4, in a GNAC road contest against the Monks of Saint Joseph's College of Maine. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
