
Cross Country Set for GNAC Championships Saturday
WINTHROP, Mass. – The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's and women's cross country teams were picked to finish seventh and eleventh, respectively, in the 2024 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Pre-Championship Poll, the league's front office announced Wednesday afternoon. The women's cross country team also recieved one first-place tally. The Blue Jays are set to toe the line in the upcoming GNAC Championships, hosted by Norwich University on Saturday, November 2 at the Norwich Cross Country Course in Northfield, Vt. The women's 6K is set to begin at 11:00 a.m., while the men's 8K goes off at 12:15 p.m.

The women's team is paced by junior Faith Shores (West Simsbury, Conn.). Shores posted a team-best 6K time of 28:11.0 during the Founding Tree Invitational.
Senior Braeden Laframboise (Southington, Conn.) leads the men's team this season. The senior sensation paced the Blue Jays during all five of the teams' meets in 2024. Laframboise broke the program-record in the 8K, which he previously set last season, crossing the line in a time of 26:27.38 during the James Earley Invitational.
