Laframboise Places Seventh, Paces Cross Country at James Earley Invitational

WESTFIELD, Mass. – Senior Braeden Laframboise (Southington, Conn.) finished in seventh place during the men's 8K race, pacing the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) cross country team at the James Earley Invitational, hosted by Westfield State University Saturday morning at Stanley Park in Westfield, Mass. Laframboise's time of 26:27.38 was a 52 second improvement over his 8K time during the team's previous race and a new USJ school record.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Laframboise paced the men during the 8K, finishing in seventh place with a new school-record time of 26:27.38, recording the best finish among all Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) participants.
  • Senior Patrick O' Connor (Cheshire, Conn.) rounded out the men's 8K for USJ, finishing in 143rd place with a time of 33:31.76, a 24 second improvement from the team's last race.
  • Junior Faith Shores (West Simsbury, Conn.) was the lone USJ runner in the women's 5k, placing 92nd after recording a time of 22:24.38.

UP NEXT

Cross country takes a 13-day hiatus, returning to the trails on Friday, October 25 for the CCSU Mini Meet. Hosted by Central Connecticut State University at Stanley Quarter Park in nearby New Britain, Conn., the meet is slated to begin at 3:00 p.m.
