Cross Country Opens Season at University of Hartford Invitational

HARTFORD, Conn. – The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) cross country team opened the 2024 season at nearby Keney Park, in Hartford during the University of Hartford XC Invitational Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Senior Braeden Laframboise (Southington, Conn.) paced the men during the 5k, finishing in 16th place after crossing the line in a time of 17:00.7.
  • Senior Patrick O' Connor (Cheshire, Conn.) was next to cross the finish line for USJ, finishing in 90th place with a time of 21:31.5.
  • Sophomore Nick Peterson (West Hartford, Conn.) followed closely behind, recording a time of 21:58.5 to finish in 93rd.
  • Junior Jayden Medina (Plantsville, Conn.) rounded out the Blue Jays on the men's side, finishing in 115th with a time of 27:28.1
  • Junior Faith Shores (West Simsbury, Conn.) paced USJ during the women's 3k, placing 47th after recording a time of 13:58.2
  • Freshman Aurora Miller (Prospect, Conn.) made her collegiate debut, finishing in 68th after crossing the line in 15:33.1.

UP NEXT

Cross country returns to action next on Saturday, September 21 for the 56th Annual Codfish Bowl. Hosted at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass., the women's 5k is set to begin at 12:15, followed by the men's 8k at 12:50 p.m.
