Laframboise Places Third, Leads Men's Cross Country at Wheaton and Babson Season Opener

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Junior Braeden Laframboise (Southington, Conn.) paced the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's cross country team with a third-place finish, to lead the Blue Jays to a sixth-place at the 9th Annual Wheaton and Babson Season Opener on the Mark Coogan Cross Country Course at Highland Park in Attleboro, Mass., this morning.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Laframboise paced the Blue Jays, crossing the line in a 5k time of 16:27.20 to finish third.
  • Junior Patrick O'Connor (Cheshire, Conn.) was the next Blue Jays to cross the line, finishing in 45th after posting a time of 19:58.00
  • Sophomore Jared Rheault (Terryville, Conn.) was the third USJ finisher, recording a time of 22:32.0 to finish in 60th
  • Senior Alfred Valero (Thomaston, Conn.) followed closely behind, recording a time of 23:05.60 to finish 62nd
  • Senior Luke Alvarez (West Hartford, Conn.) rounded out the points finishers for the Blue Jays, crossing the line in a time of 23:51.80 to finish in 63rd
  • Freshman Jonathan Casillas (Holyoke, Mass) made his USJ debut, placing 66th after posting a time of 26:47.70
  • Babson took home the team title, tallying 47 points.

The men's cross country returns to action next Saturday, September 9 for the Cardinal Invitational, hosted by Wesleyan University at the Wes Fuhrman '05 Trails Cross Country Course in Middletown, Conn.
