
Men's Swimming & Diving Selected Second in GNAC Pre-Championship Poll
WINTHROP, Mass. – The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's and women's swimming and diving teams were picked to finish second and tied for fourth, respectively, in the 2025 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Pre-Championship Coaches' Poll, the league's front office announced Friday afternoon. The three-day GNAC Championships are set to begin on Friday, February 7th inside the WPI Sports & Recreation Center in Worcester, Mass.
The men's team was selected to finish second in this season's pre-championship poll. The Blue Jays, who received 11 poll points, trailed only Norwich University, who received all four first-place tallies as the Cadets look to win their third-straight GNAC title. The Blue Jays and Cadets were picked to finish ahead of Regis (nine points) and Albertus Magnus (four points). USJ is looking to improve upon last season's GNAC Championship result, as the Blue Jays finished in fifth place.
The women's team was picked to finish tied for fourth with Saint Joseph's College of Maine after receiving 27 poll points, ahead of Elms College (11) and Albertus Magnus (11). Norwich was selected to finish first in this year's championship, receiving 48 points and six of a possible seven first-place tallies. Simmons received the remaining first-place vote, totaling 43 points for second place. USJ finished in sixth place at last year's GNAC Championship meet.
