
Men's Swimming & Diving Drops Dual Meet to Eastern Connecticut Saturday
WILLIMANTIC, Conn. - The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's swimming and diving team dropped its regular-season finale to intrastate foe Eastern Connecticut State University (ECSU), 188-60, Saturday afternoon inside the ECSU Sports Center in Willimantic, Conn.
TOP PERFORMANCES
- 200 Yard Medley Relay – The team of freshman Chris Capen (Wilbraham, Mass.), graduate student Joseph Guerin (Bristol, Conn.), freshman Alex Carrier (Farmington, Conn.) and freshman Viktor Orzolek (Newington, Conn.) finished in fourth place, combining for a time of 1:53.24.
- 1000 Yard Free – Guerin won the event, posting a time of 11:46.18.
- 200 Yard Free – Freshman Aiden Hebb (Waterbury, Conn.) was the lone Blue Jay in the event, finish in third with a time of 1:54.11.
- 50 Yard Back – Capen finished in second place, touching the wall in 28.95 seconds.
- 50 Yard Breaststroke - Brasky paced the team with a second place finish, recording a time of 29.79 seconds.
- 50 Yard Free - Carrier recorded a second-place finish, posting a time of 23.44 seconds.
- 100 Yard Free - Carrier finished in third place, recording a time of 52.64 seconds.
- 100 Yard Back - Capen finished in second place, posting a time of 1:01.51.
- 100 Yard Breaststroke - Hebb won the event for the Blue Jays, recording a time of 1:04.41.
- 500 Yard Free – Orzolek paced the team with a second place finish, recording a time of 5:46.80.
- 50 Yard Fly - Carrier finished in fourth place, touching the wall in 27.34 seconds.
- 100 Yard IM – Hebb finished in second place, recording a time of 59.98 seconds.
- 200 Free Relay - The team of Guerin, Hebb, freshman Nate Brasky (Madison, Conn.) and Capen finished in fourth after combining for a time of 1:39.43.

The Blue Jays now gear up for the GNAC Championships, which are set to begin on Friday, February 7, inside the WPI Sports & Recreation Center in Worcester, Mass.
