
Hebb Breaks 1-Meter Diving Program Record, Blue Jays Fall to Gordon Saturday
WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - Freshman Aiden Hebb (Waterbury, Conn.) continued his record-breaking campaign, setting a new program record in the 1-Meter Diving (Six Dives) event as the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's swimming and diving team fell to visiting Gordon College, 132-82, Saturday afternoon inside the Bruyette Natatorium in West Hartford, Conn.
TOP PERFORMANCES
- 200 Yard Medley Relay – The team of freshmen Chris Capen (Wilbraham, Mass.), Nate Brasky (Madison, Conn.), Alex Carrier (Farmington, Conn.) and Aiden Hebb (Waterbury, Conn.), and finished in second place, combining for a time of 1:47.85.
- 1000 Yard Free – Graduate student Joseph Guerin (Bristol, Conn.) won the event, posting a time of 11:55.37.
- 200 Yard Free – Freshman Viktor Orzolek (Newington, Conn.) was the lone Blue Jay in the event, finish in second with a time of 2:08.81.
- 50 Yard Back – Capen finished in second place, touching the wall in 29.15 seconds.
- 50 Yard Breaststroke - Brasky paced the team with a second place finish, recording a time of 29.71 seconds.
- 50 Yard Free - Carrier won the event for USJ, recording a time of 23.60 seconds.
- 100 Yard Free - Orzolek placed second in the event, tallying a time of 59.66 seconds.
- 200 Yard Back - Capen finished in second place, posting a time of 2:17.85.
- 200 Yard Breaststroke - Hebb won the event for the Blue Jays, recording a time of 2:21.96.
- 500 Yard Free – Guerin paced the team with a second place finish, recording a time of 5:47.13.
- 50 Yard Fly - Carrier finished in second place, touching the wall in 26.86 seconds.
- 1 Meter Diving - Hebb made history, breaking the program record after recording a score of 186.59 points.
- 200 Yard IM – Brasky finished in second place, recording a time of 2:21.96.
- 400 Free Relay - The team of Carrier, Brasky, Capen and Hebb finished in second after combining for a time of 3:33.23.
UP NEXT
The Blue Jays round out the 2024-25 regular season on the road at intrastate foes Eastern Connecticut on Saturday, January 25. The dual meet against the Warriors inside the ECSU Sports Center in Willimantic, Conn., is set for 1:00 p.m.
