
Men's Swimming & Diving Competes at Friday Night Sprints
NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's swimming and diving team continued the 2024-25 campaign Friday night, taking part in the Friday Night Sprints, hosted by Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) at the Jack Suydam Natatorium in New Britain, Conn. The Blue Jays competed against the Division I Blue Devils as well as Division II Southern Connecticut State University across several events.
TOP PERFORMANCES
- 200 Yard Medley Relay – The team of freshmen Chris Capen (Wilbraham, Mass.), Aiden Hebb (Waterbury, Conn.), Alex Carrier (Farmington, Conn.) and Nate Brasky (Madison, Conn.) finished in second place, combining for a time of 1:46.89.
- 200 Yard Free – Hebb paced the team in the event, finishing in second place after touching the wall in a time of 1:55.35.
- 50 Yard Free – Carrier led USJ in the event, finishing in third after posting a time of 23.92 seconds.
- 50 Yard Fly - Carrier also topped the timing sheet for USJ, recording a seventh place finish with a time of 27.27 seconds.
- 100 Yard Back - Capen won the event after recording a time of 1:02.60.
- 50 Yard Breaststroke – Brasky won the event after posting a time of 29.60 seconds.
- 100 Yard Free - Graduate student Joseph Guerin (Bristol, Conn.) lead the team with a fifth place finish, recording a time of 58.91 seconds.
- 100 Yard IM – Hebb paced the Blue Jays in the event, finishing in third after recording a time of 58.00 seconds.
- 200 Yard Free Relay - The team of Carrier, Brasky, Capen and Hebb, finished in second place after combining for a time of 1:36.44.
UP NEXT
The Blue Jays return to the pool next on Saturday, November 16, for a dual meet at Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) foes Norwich University. The meet against the Cadets at Goodyear Pool in Northfield, Vt., is slated to begin at 12:00 p.m.
