Men's Swimming & Diving Defeats Albertus Magnus and Saint Joseph's Maine Saturday Afternoon

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's swimming and diving team swept a home double-dual meet, defeating Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) foes Albertus Magnus College and Saint Joseph's College of Maine Saturday afternoon inside Bruyette Natatorium in West Hartford, Conn. The Blue Jays bested the Falcons and the Monks by identical 86-0 score lines.

TOP PERFORMANCES

  • 200 Yard Medley Relay – The team of freshmen Chris Capen (Wilbraham, Mass.), Aiden Hebb (Waterbury, Conn.), Alex Carrier (Farmington, Conn.) and Nate Brasky (Madison, Conn.) won the event, combining for a time of 1:49.04.
  • 1000 Yard Free – Graduate student Joseph Guerin (Bristol, Conn.) topped the timing chart for USJ, winning the event after touching the wall in a time of 12:26.25.
  • 200 Yard Free – Brasky won the event, finishing in a time of 2:05.28.
  • 50 Yard Free – Carrier won the event after touching the wall in 23.54 seconds.
  • 200 Yard IM - Hebb won the event for USJ, posting a time of 2:13.66.
  • 200 Yard Back - Capen won the event after recording a time of 2:17.08.
  • 500 Yard Free – Guerin won the event after posting a time of 6:00.21.
  • 200 Yard Breaststroke – Hebb won the event for USJ, breaking the program's freshman record in the event, setting a new best time of 2:22.64.

UP NEXT

The Blue Jays head on the road, traveling to nearby New Britain, Conn., for the Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) Sprint Meet on Friday, November 8. Held inside the Jack Suydam Natatoirum on the campus of CCSU, the meet is slated to begin at 5:00 p.m.
