
Men's Swimming & Diving Drops Season Opener at Regis Friday Night
WESTON, Mass. – The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's swimming and diving team dropped its 2024-25 season opener at Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) foe Regis College (Regis), 102-94, inside Regis Pool in Weston, Mass.
TOP PERFORMANCES
- 200 Yard Medley Relay – The team of graduate student Joseph Guerin (Bristol, Conn.) and freshmen Chris Capen (Wilbraham, Mass.), Aiden Hebb (Waterbury, Conn.) and Nate Brasky (Madison, Conn.) finished in second place, combining for a time of 1:51.49.
- 1000 Yard Free – Guerin won the event after posting a time of 13:27.53.
- 200 Yard Free – Hebb took home first place after recording a time of 1:56.12.
- 50 Yard Back - Capen won the event for USJ, touching the wall in a time of 28.87 seconds.
- 50 Yard Breaststroke – Brasky picked up the win for the Blue Jays after posting a time of 29.33 seconds to set a new freshman program record.
- 100 Yard Fly - Guerin was the lone Blue Jay in the event, finishing in third with a time of 1:16.22.
- 50 Yard Free – Brasky paced the team, finishing in second after touching the wall in 24.37 seconds.
- 100 Yard Free – Brasky led the team again, recording a second place finish in a time of 54.23 seconds.
- 100 Yard Back - Capen won his second event of the day, finishign in a time of 1:03.55.
- 100 Yard Breaststroke - Hebb won the event for USJ, breaking the freshman program record with a time of 1:05.04.
- 500 Yard Free – Freshman Viktor Orzolek (Newington, Conn.) finished in first place, recording a time of 6:18.18.
- 50 Yard Fly – Orzolek paced the Blue Jays, recording a time of 32.13 seconds.
- 100 Yard IM – Capen paced the Blue Jays in the event, posting a second place finish after recording a time of 1:04.61.
UP NEXT
The Blue Jays return to West Hartford for their 2024-25 home debut on Friday, October 18, hosting the annual Blue Jay Pentathlon. The event inside the Bruyette Natatorium is set to begin at 5:00 p.m.
