Men's Swimming & Diving Competes Against Trinity and Clark

HARTFORD, Conn. – The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's swimming & diving dropped a double dual meet against neighboring foes Trinity College (Trinity) and Clark University (Clark) inside the Trinity Natatorium in Hartford, Conn, Saturday afternoon. The Blue Jays fell to the host Bantams, 211-24, and the Cougars, 174-26.

TOP PERFORMANCES

  • 200 Yard Medley Relay - The team of seniors Andrew Parisi (Ellington, Conn.), Joseph Guerin (Bristol, Conn.) and Tim Magill (Staten Island, N.Y.) and freshman Thanushra Samaratunga (Colombo, Sri Lanka), finished in sixth place after combining for a time of 2:17.80.
  • 1000 Yard Free - Guerin finished in third place after touching the wall in a time of 12:09.05.
  • 200 Yard Free – Magill paced the Blue Jays, posting a fifth-place finish with a time of 2:24.72
  • 50 Yard Free – Magill also lead the Blue Jays in the event, finishing in eighth place in a time of 27.96 seconds.
  • 100 Yard Free – Guerin topped the timing sheet for USJ, posting a sixth-place finish with a time of 57.14 seconds.
  • 500 Yard Free – Guerin was the lone Blue Jay in the event, finishing in fourth in a time a 5:55.04.

UP NEXT

The Blue Jays remain in the Nutmeg State, heading to Western Connecticut State University on Friday, January 19 for a dual meet. The meet against the Wolves inside the William A. O'Neill Athletic & Convocation Center in Danbury, Conn., is set to start at 5:00 p.m.
