Men's Swimming & Diving Falls at Home to Norwich Friday Night

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's swimming & diving team dropped a dual-meet against Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) foes Norwich University, 167-23, Friday night inside the Bruyette Natatorium in West Hartford, Conn.

TOP PERFORMANCES

  • 200 Yard Medley Relay – The team of freshman Thanushra Samaratunga (Colombo, Sri Lanka), and Tim Magill (Staten Island, N.Y.) and Andrew Parisi (Ellington, Conn.) finished in third place, combining for a time of 2:19.93.
  • 1650 Yard Free – Seniors Joseph Guerin (Bristol, Conn) was the lone Blue Jay in the event, finishing in second place after touching the wall in a time of 20:41.15.
  • 200 Yard Free – Senior Tyler Sebold (Centerport, N.Y.) recorded a fourth-place finish, recording a time of 2:27.06.
  • 50 Yard Free – Senior Tim Magill (Staten Island, N.Y.) topped the timing sheet for USJ, finishing in fourth with a time of 28.82 seconds.
  • 1 Meter Diving – Freshman Thanushra Samaratunga (Colombo, Sri Lanka) finished in third place in the opening diving event, posting a score of 95.55 points. Samartunga later finished in fourth during the second portion of the one-meter diving, tallying 72.20 points.
  • 100 Yard Free – Magil paced USJ in the event, finishing in fourth with a time of 1:04.76.
  • 500 Yard Free – Guerin recorded a third-place finish, touching the wall in a time of 5:57.16.
  • 200 Yard Free Relay – The team of Guerin, senior Andrew Parisi (Ellington, Conn.), Sebold and Magill finished in third place, combining for a time of 1:53.09.

UP NEXT
