Men's Swimming & Diving Finishes Fifth at RWU Invitational

BRISTOL, R.I. – The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's swimming and diving team continued the 2023-24 season, competing in the Roger Williams Invitational on Saturday inside the Aquatics Center in Bristol, R.I.. The Blue Jays finished in fifth place, tallying 40 points on the day.

TOP PERFORMANCES

  • 200 Yard Free – Senior Joseph Guerin (Bristol, Conn.) paced USJ in the event, finishing in 23rd after recording a time of 2:11.97.
  • 50 Yard Free – Senior Tim Magill (Staten Island, N.Y.) lead the Blue Jays, recording a time of 29.07 seconds to finish in 26th.
  • 100 Yard Free – Senior Tyler Sebold (Centerport, N.Y.) topping the timing sheet for USJ in the event, finishing in 29th with a time of 1:07.69
  • 50 Yard Free – Guerin was the lone Blue Jay in the event, finishing in 19th place with a time of 6:06.31.
  • 200 Yard Free Relay – The team of Guerin, Sebold, Magill and senior Andrew Parisi (Ellington, Conn.) finished in fifth after combining for a time of 1:58.24.
  • 100 Yard Breaststroke – Guerin paced the Blue Jays, finishing in 19th place after touching the wall in a time of 1:66.66.
  • 400 Yard Free Relay – The team of freshman Thanushra Samaratunga (Colombo, Sri Lanka), Guerin, Parisi and Magill finished in fifth place after posting a time of 4:40.61

The Blue Jays quickly return to the pool, hosting a dual-meet against Husson, tomorrow, Sunday October 29 at 10:00 a.m.
