Swimming & Diving Lands Four on CSC Academic All-District Team

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Seniors Aaron Gauvin (Berlin, Conn.) and David Kavanaugh (West Hartford, Conn.) and sophomores Emily Beyer (Prospect, Conn.) and Gabriela Targonska (Newington, Conn.) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's and women's swimming & diving teams received College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District honors, the organization announced Tuesday.

OFFICIAL CSC RELEASE

The 2022-23 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Teams selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes swimming and diving honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.

To be an Academic All-District® honoree, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore at their institution and have spent at least one full year at that particular school, have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above, and have participated in at least 50 percent of their team's contests.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid March.
