Men's Swimming & Diving Defeats Colby-Sawyer During Senior Day

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's swimming and diving team defeated Colby-Sawyer College (CSC) on Sunday afternoon inside the Bruyette Natatorium in West Hartford during Senior Day. The Blue Jays took down the Chargers 136-71.

TOP PERFORMANCES

  • 200 Yard Medley Relay – The team of Joseph Guerin (Bristol, Conn.), Michael Allo (Newington, Conn.), Maksym Ugrak (Newington, Conn.) and Aaron Gauvin (Berlin, Conn.) won the event after posting a combined time of 1:51.17.
  • 1000 Yard Free – Brandon Scacca (Rocky Hill, Conn.) took home the silver, finishing second in a time of 12:32.55.
  • 200 Yard Free – Allo and Guerin made it a USJ one-two in the 200-yard freestyle, as Allo won the event in a time of 1:56.50, while Guerin finished second in a time of 2:14.18.
  • 100 Yard Breaststroke – Ugrak continued the Blue Jays winning ways, taking home the gold in a time of 1:09.17.
  • 200 Yard Butterfly – Scacca earned another first-place finish for USJ, winning the event in a time of 2:41.44
  • 50 Yard Free – Gauvin kept the gold medal train rolling, finishing in first after posting a time of 24.87.
  • 100 Yard Free – Gauvin carried over his success in the 50-yard freestyle into the 100-yard freestyle, picking up another first place finish after posting a time of 55.11
  • 1 Meter Diving – David Kavanaugh (West Hartford, Conn.) took home the gold, finishing with a score of 134.30.
  • 200 Yard Breaststroke – Allo won his second event of the day, finishing in a time of 2:21.73.
  • 500 Yard Free – Guerin paced USJ, finishing second with a time of 6:06.98.
  • 100 Yard Butterfly – Ugrak won yet another event for USJ, winning the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 59.38.
  • 200 Yard IM – Scacca won his third event of the day after posting a time of 2:29.88.
  • 200 Yard Free Relay– The team of Gauvin, Ugrak, Allo and Guerin won the event after posting a time of 1:38.04.

UP NEXT

The Blue Jays take a 17-day hiatus before returning to the pool for the Connecticut Cup on December 2 through December 3. The Connecticut Cup will be hosted by Wesleyan University in Middletown, Conn.
