Men's Swimming & Diving Finishes Fourth at RWU Invitational

BRISTOL, R.I. – The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's swimming and diving team continued its 2022-23 season at the Roger Williams Invitational at the RWU Aquatics Center in Bristol, R.I., this afternoon.

TOP PERFORMANCES 

  • 200 Yard Medley Relay – The team of Joseph Guerin (Bristol, Conn.), Michael Allo (Newington, Conn.), Maksym Ugrak (Newington, Conn.) and Vinnie Carbonell (Berlin, Conn.) finished in third after posting a time of 1:55.15. 

  • 200 Yard Free – Allo paced USJ in the event, finishing eighth in a time of 1:57.86. 

  • 200 Yard IM  Brandon Scacca (Rocky Hill, Conn.) was the lone Blue Jay to take part in the event, finishing in 10th with a time of 2:35.34. 

  • 50 Yard Free – Allo lead the way again, finishing seventh with a time of 24.08. 

  • 100 Yard Butterfly – Ugrak was the lone Blue Jay in the event, finishing in seventh with a time of 1:01.55. 

  • 100 Yard Free – Carbonell topped the timing sheet for USJ in the event, finishing in eighth after posting a time of 56.44 

  • 500 Yard Free – Allo paced the Blue Jays in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing in ninth place with a time of 5:24.71. 

  • 100 Yard Backstroke – Guerin was the lone USJ swimmer, finishing seventh in a time of 1:13.30. 

  • 100 Yard Breaststroke – Ugrak topped the timing charts for USJ, coming in ninth place in a time of 1:13.68. Scacca followed closely behind, finishing in 10th after posting a time of 1:16.41. 

UP NEXT 

The Blue Jays make their 2022-23 debut inside Bruyette Natatorium, hosting the Blue Jays Pentathlon on Friday, October 21st. The meet is set to begin at 5:00 p.m.
