Milardo Named GNAC Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week
WINTHROP, Mass. – Freshman midfielder Mario Milardo (Middletown, Conn.) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's soccer team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the conference front office on Monday afternoon in its seventh weekly report of the 2024 season. The honor marked the first weekly conference accolade in Milardo's career.
Milardo recorded the first two goals of his collegiate career for the Blue Jays, helping guide the men's soccer team to a 0-0-2 record this past week. He started the week by netting his first career goal in a 1-1 tie against Albertus Magnus on Wednesday night at home. Milardo then found the back of the net again against Anna Maria at home on Saturday, rescuing a point for USJ by scoring the Blue Jays' lone goal in a 1-1 draw. This season, Milardo has started in all 15 games for the Blue Jays, recording five points off two goals and one assist.

The Blue Jays return to the field tomorrow, Tuesday, October 15, heading to Boston for a GNAC match at Emmanuel College. Opening kickoff against the Saints at Roberto Celemente Field is set for 7:00 p.m.
