Stephens Earns GNAC Player of the Week Accolades

WINTHROP, Mass. – Senior forward Dane Stephens (Linstead, Jamaica) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's soccer team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon in its fourth weekly report of the 2023 season. It marks the third career GNAC weekly honor for Stephens and the third weekly accolade for the Blue Jays this season.

Stephens paced the USJ offense this past week, guiding the team to a perfect 2-0-0 record. The forward started the week by scoring the game-winning goal in the 3-1 victory at Mitchell, before rounding out the week with a goal against rivals Albertus Magnus during the 2-0 victory against the Falcons. The senior has been stellar during the 2023 campaign, sitting tied for second on the team with four goals and nine points to guide the Blue Jays to an unbeaten 6-0-1 start to the year.

UP NEXT 
Stephens and the Blue Jays round out a three-game road trip by making a stop in Newton, Mass. for a matchup against the Lasell Lasers on Wednesday, September 27. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m. on Taylor Field.
