Ofori Named GNAC Player and Rookie of the Week

WINTHROP, Mass. – Sophomore forward Emmanuel Ofori (East Hartford, Conn.) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's soccer team was named both the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player and Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon in its first weekly report of the 2023 season. It marks the first career GNAC weekly honor for Ofori and the first time in program history that a men's soccer player has won both player and rookie of the week.

Ofori, who transferred into the USJ program this season, began his Blue Jays' career strong, recording a five-point performance during the team's 5-3 season opening victory at SUNY Poly this past Saturday. Ofori netted two goals and dished out the game-winning assist to lift the Blue Jays to a 1-0-0 start to the 2023 campaign.

UP NEXT 
Ofori and the Blue Jays return to West Hartford for its 2023 season opener, hosting Bridgewater State University on Wednesday, September 6. Kick-off in the inaugural meeting between the Blue Jays and Bears is set for 3:30 p.m. on the USJ Soccer Field.
