Men's Soccer Scores Three Straight To Win Third Straight Saturday

CHICOPEE, Mass.  The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) Men's Soccer team was on-point Saturday night, claiming a 3-1 decision over the Blazers of Elm's College (EC) in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) road match on Leary Field.

A trio of Blue Jays (and a pair of Elijah's) found the back of the net for USJ in this decisive win. Junior midfielder Joel Agbetossou (Hartford, Conn.), junior defender Elijah Rodriguez (Southington, Conn.), and junior defender Elijah Rowland (Hartford, Conn.) all scored on the night in that order. Rowland's goal turned out to be the game-winner (the goal and GW the first of his career). Rodriguez also had his first-ever strike through the cage Saturday. Despite trailing 1-0 early, USJ stayed on the attack, scoring two goals in the first half, and the insurance goal in the 71st minute by Rodriguez to seal the deal.

GAME INFORMATION
Score: Saint Joseph 3, Elms 1
Records: USJ 5-1-1 (3-1-0 GNAC), EC 3-5-0 (2-4-0 GNAC)

"Another solid performance tonight from the guys. We created a lot of opportunities in both halves, and did not let one opportunity from Elms get in the way of what we wanted to do. Congrats to both Elijah's on getting their first career goals, I know the feeling, it's special."
