Gadun Tabbed GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week

WINTHROP, Mass. - Freshman goalkeeper Anes Gadun (Clinton, Conn.) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's soccer team was tabbed the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Goalkeeper of the Week, it was announced by the league's front office on Monday afternoon. It marks the first-ever men's weekly conference award in the institution's history since the Blue Jays became a fully coeducational university this past fall.

OFFICIAL GNAC RELEASE

USJ's freshman goalkeeper Anes Gadun (Clinton, Conn.) helped lead the Blue Jays to an unbeaten GNAC week (1-0-1) after posting 15 saves and a .938 saves percentage. The lone goal he surrendered on the week came on a penalty kick in the 10th minute in an eventual 3-1 win at Anna Maria on Wednesday. He followed that up with 190 straight minutes of flawless netminding. He needed to make just two saves in the remaining 80 minutes in the win against the AMCATS before stopping a career-high 13 shots on goal in a 0-0, double-overtime draw on the road at Suffolk on Saturday. It marked the first double-digit save effort for the rookie and his second shutout on the season.
