The game wouldn't stay tied for long, as an incredible solo effort from sophomore midfield Christian Decker (Bristol, Conn.) reestablish the lead for USJ, 2-1. The Blue Jays continued to put their foot on the gas in the closing moments, as Crisco found senior attack Evan Baden (Burlington, Conn.) out in front of the goal, who fired his shot into the corner, beating the buzzer and sending USJ into the second quarter leading, 3-1.

Decker continued the Blue Jays hot streak immediately into the second quarter, extending the advantage to 4-1, 21 seconds into the second quarter. The USJ offense continued to not let up, as sophomore midfield Nick Pestrichello (Wethersfield, Conn.) ripped his shot into the back of the net, increasing the lead to 5-1 before Baden netted his second of the game after receiving a perfect pass from Green, establish a 6-1 edge at the 9:49 mark. Baden rounded out his hattrick moments later, increasing the USJ edge to 7-1 with 3:16 left in the half.
