Bio

Ryan Olander is in his fourth season as a Volunteer Assistant Coach for Men's Basketball, and Academic Advisor for Athletics at the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) in 2021-22. He is also in the School Counseling Master’s program at USJ. Olander helps all student-athletes with access to academic resources, academic progress monitoring, and organizing study halls for teams. As a coach, Olander helped lead the Blue Jays to back-to-back Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship appearances, including a title win in 2020, and a trip to the NCAA Div. III Tournament.  

Olander carries three years of professional basketball playing experience to the men’s basketball locker room, having played in Lithuania from 2012-2015. He was an all-star in 2014 for Panevezys Lietkabelis, and won the Baltic League Championship for Siauliai in 2015. His brother Tyler (UConn) and sister Morgan (Bryant) both played Division I Basketball. 

Prior to his professional playing career, Olander played at Fairfield U from 2008-2012, where he was a three-time academic all-conference selection, second-team all MAAC as a junior, and a team captain his junior and senior seasons.

Olander resides in West Hartford.
