
Men's Hoops Takes Down Colby-Sawyer to Conclude Regular Season, 82-49
NEW LONDON, N.H. – The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's basketball team got back in the win column, taking down Colby-Sawyer College (CSC), 82-49, Saturday afternoon during the team's 2024-25 regular-season finale inside the Dan & Kathleen Hogan Sports Center in New London, N.H. With the result, the Blue Jays finished the regular season 16-9 overall and 11-3 in GNAC play while, the Chargers concluded the year 5-20 overall and 3-11 in the conference. With the win and results elsewhere in the conference, the Blue Jays secured the No. 3 seed in the upcoming Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament and will host sixth-seeded Rivier University in the quarterfinals on Tuesday, February 25 at 7:00 p.m. in West Hartford, Conn.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- USJ started the game strong, holding a quick 6-0 lead at the 18:30 mark after buckets from senior guard Kevin Cummings (Portsmouth, N.H.), junior forward Friedrich Feldrappe (Berlin, Germany) and freshman forward Adelphe Cisse (Pointe-Noire, Congo).
- CSC would answer back, tying the game at 8-8, but a 7-0 USJ stretch, featuring a triple from junior wing Lence Altenor (Everett, Mass.) saw the visitors hold a 15-8 edge with 14:11 on the clock.
- The Chargers would not go away though, cutting the deficit to one, until a 10-2 USJ run, fueled by eight points from Altneor, saw the visitors extend the gap back to nine, 30-21, with 7:43 left in the half.
- USJ continued to roll, closing the half on another 10-2 stretch, taking a 40-27 edge into the halftime break.
- The Blue Jays carried the momentum into the second half, as Cisse closed out an 8-2 start with a layup at the 16:04 mark, increasing the gap to 48-29.
- CSC would not be able to close the gap, as sophomore wing Jalen Holmes (Cherry Hill, N.J.) knocked down a jumper at the 5:41 mark to increase the USJ advantage to 30 points, 74-44.
- USJ continued to dominate, closing the game on an 8-5 stretch to secure the victory, 82-49.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Feldrappe finished with a game-high 18 points.
- Altenor, Cummings and Cisse joined him in double-figures, scoring 17, 12, and 10 points, respectively.
- Freshman guard Jakari Tertulien (Bridgeport, Conn.) hauled in a game-high 12 rebounds.
- Altenor dished out a team-best five assists.
- USJ outshot CSC, 59.3 percent to 36.2 percent.
- The Blue Jays limited the Chargers to a 3-of-24 mark from beyond the arc.
- USJ dominated on the glass, outrebounding CSC, 43-17.

The Blue Jays, who earned the No. 3 seed in the upcoming GNAC Tournament, will host a GNAC Quarterfinal game against sixth-seeded Rivier University on Tuesday, February 25. Tipoff between the Blue Jays and Raiders inside James A. Calhoun Gymnasium in West Hartford, Conn. is set for 7:00 p.m.
