Mitchell Nets 1,000th Career Point, Powers Men's Hoops Past Dean Tuesday Night

FRANKLIN, Mass. – Behind a career-high 42 points from senior guard Tyree Mitchell (East Hartford, Conn.), including the 1,000th of his career, the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's basketball team defeated the Dean College Bulldogs on the road, 108-77, during Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play Tuesday evening inside Pieri Gymnasium in Franklin, Mass. It marked the second time in men's basketball program history that a player scored 40-plus points in a game, as Mitchell became the fourth player to reach the 1,000-career point milestone. With the victory, the Blue Jays extend their win streak to eight games, improve to 16-4 overall on the 2023-24 season, and remain perfect in GNAC play at 9-0. Dean falls to 6-15 overall and 2-8 in conference games with the setback.
