Men's Hoops Closes Out Colby in Opening Game of Lafrance Hospitality Classic Friday, 79-70

DARTMOUTH, Mass. - With the game tied and under four minutes remaining in regulation, the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's basketball team used another gritty performance to pull away late and defeat the Colby College Mules, 79-70, in the opening game of UMass Dartmouth's Lafrance Hospitality Classic Friday evening inside the Tripp Athletic Center in Dartmouth, Mass. With the victory, the Blue Jays remain perfect on the 2023-24 season and improve to 4-0, while the Mules fall to 1-2 overall with the setback. Senior forward Jalen Samuels (Franklin, Mass.) scored a career-high 24 points to lead the Blue Jays in the triumph.

Men's basketball has a quick turnaround and will face another challenging New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) opponent in crosstown foe Trinity College tomorrow, Saturday, November 18 in both team's final contest of the Lafrance Hospitality Classic. Tipoff between the Blue Jays and Bantams is set for 12:00 p.m. at the Tripp Athletic Center in Dartmouth, Mass.
