Altenor Nets Game-Winner to Lift Men's Hoops Over Yeshiva in Season Opener

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - Sophomore guard Lence Altenor (Everett, Mass.) drained a 20-foot pull-up jumper from the left wing with three seconds remaining in regulation to lift the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's basketball team to a thrilling, 83-79, non-conference victory over visiting Yeshiva University (YU) in its 2023-24 season opener Wednesday night inside a packed James A. Calhoun Gymnasium in West Hartford, Conn. With the victory, the Blue Jays start the year 1-0 for the third consecutive season, while the Maccabees drop to 0-1 to start their young season.
