Last-Minute Gordon Goal Spoils Field Hockey Season Opener

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - A last-minute goal scored by Gordon College spoiled the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) field hockey 2022 season opener on a beautiful Thursday afternoon in West Hartford at the USJ Field Hockey Field. With 46 seconds left in regulation sophomore Gina Ouellette (Foxboro, Mass.) knocked in the game-winning goal to lift the Fighting Scots to victory.

"That was a heartbreaking way to start the season, but we are definitely building in the right direction with the addition of all of our freshman. Overall, I thought it was a good showing by the team for our first game and we will look to continue to build chemistry as the season progresses. A key point of emphasis moving forward will be finishing games strong," said head coach Karen Nell.
