Bio

Dan Szewczak enters his second year as the Assistant Sports Information Director in 2023-24 at USJ after joining the staff in September of 2022. In his role he serves as the primary contact for men's soccer, women's tennis, volleyball, cross country, swimming &diving, men's lacrosse, softball and women's basketball. His primary responsibilities include serving as a liaison between the local, regional and national media for the athletic department, compiling and reporting statistics for each of USJ's 16 varsity sports, writing content for and managing the usjbluejays.com athletics website and social media accounts (@USJ_BlueJays). Szewczak also helps oversee the production of all home events via USJ's online streaming platforms.

Prior to joining the staff at USJ, Szewczak spent the 2021-22 season as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at nearby University of Hartford, helping to promote the Hawks' then 17 Division I programs. At Hartford, he was the primary media contact for men’s and women's basketball, men's soccer, volleyball and baseball.

Before being named the Assistant Director, Szewczak spent two seasons as the Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant with the Hawks. As a graduate assistant, he was the primary media contact for men’s soccer, cross country, track and field and softball. He earned his master’s in communications from the University of Hartford in 2021.

Prior to joining the Hawks, Szewczak received his bachelor’s in mass communications from Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, Pa. During his time at Bloomsburg, he was a student-worker in the Sports Information department, helping to promote the Huskies' 18 Division II sports.

Originally from Allentown, Pa., Szewczak now resides in Bristol, Conn., with his fiancée Andrea.
