The USJ Athletic Communications Office abides by a degree of professionalism in all aspects of sports communication. The department is responsible for the updating of www.usjbluejays.com, press releases for all varsity events, and reporting statistics and results to the GNAC and NCAA.

INTERVIEW POLICY:
Official interviews (those in which student-athletes or coaches are speaking on behalf of their team, USJ, or USJ Athletics) should be arranged through their teams designated media contact. Representatives of the media are discouraged from contacting USJ student-athletes or coaches directly via cell phone, email or social media direct messaging for interviews or comments. The Athletic Communications Office has a strict policy of NEVER distributing student-athletes’ or coaches' phone numbers without prior approval.

Players and coaches are available to media throughout the week, but please allow 24 hours notice. For post-game interviews, we advise media to respect at least a 10-minute waiting period after the conclusion of the event so that student-athletes and coaches can be available to their team during that time. Interviews can be conducted on the fields/court or outside the locker rooms following the cool down period.

PHOTO POLICY:
Please contact the Athletic Communications Office at least 24 hours prior to the athletic event you wish to shoot at the University. ONLY PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHERS or prior approved members shooting for USJ, the visiting school or approved media outlets will be allowed. The University reserves the right to revoke photography privileges based upon sideline conduct during the game.

SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY:
Playing and competing for the University of Saint Joseph is a privilege, not a right. It is imperative that student-athletes represent their teams and University in a positive manner at all times. Social network sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Snapchat and other digital platforms have increased in popularity and are used by student-athletes at USJ. Participation in such networks has both positive appeal and potentially negative consequences. It is important that USJ student-athletes be aware of these consequences and exercise appropriate caution if they choose to participate.

TELEVISION/RADIO POLICY:
If you wish to provide television or radio coverage of an athletic event at the University of Saint Joseph, please contact the Athletic Communications Office at least 24 hours prior to the event.
